Stephen Hilton

Stephen Hilton leads Connecting Bristol, Bristol City Council’s Digital Partnership and is a founder memner of the DC10plus.  Stephen's professional interests include Web 2.0, Digital Inclusion, Green ICT and Wireless and Broadband connectivity.

Previously, Stephen worked as Bristol City Council’s Corporate Consultation and e-Participation Manager since 1999. During this time he establishes a leading role for Bristol City Council in the area of  e-participation. The city was named European City for e-Democracy and Stephen received a personal award as BT Innovator of the Year in the National Government Computing Awards.

In his spare time, Stephen volunteers for Leonard Cheshire Disability, running the Ready to Start blog an online forum for disabled people who are entrepreneurs .  He also runs a music club for intrepid piano players.

Stephen occassionally blogs here about what it is like not to be able to see very well and how great YouTube is if you want to learn to play piano.
